Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus recruiting studies and washout check
1,299 studies matched on ClinicalTrials.gov for the query below. Retrieved September 28, 2026. This page does not say who can enroll.
Query
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus OR Type 2 Diabetes OR Diabetes Mellitus Type 2
Names the matcher also recognizes: Type 2 Diabetes, T2D, Diabetes Mellitus Type 2. Abbreviations shorter than five letters stay off the query so a string such as MS does not pull unrelated records. Status filter: recruiting or not yet recruiting. The same names are how a personalized search starts. Washout timing still needs the treatment end date you enter on the search form. The Food for Health Study
Recruiting · Not Applicable · registry updated 2026-04-03
The project, called Food for Health (F4H), will study a new Produce Prescription Program (PPP) designed for rural Native American older adults. The study is based in the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes (CSKT) of the Flathead Indian Reservation in Montana. In this community, many older adults face food insecurity and higher risk for Type 2 Diabetes (T2D). The tribal health department (THD) and local Food Resource Center (FRC) already provide important health and food support services, and this project builds on these strengths. Produce Prescription Programs (PPPs) is a type of nutrition support intervention that connects healthcare providers with local food programs to help patients access fresh, healthy foods. For example, an individual enrolled in the study will be "prescribe" fruits and vegetables in the form of a vouchers or coupons, which can be used to buy these foods at local food centers. Research shows that this type of program can reduce food insecurity, improve diet, and support better health. PPPs also fit well with tribal community priorities by supporting food sovereignty, culture-based nutrition education, and a stronger local food system....

Short-Term Effects of Sucralose and Saccharin on Blood Sugar and Gut Microbiota in Type 2 Diabetes
Not Yet Recruiting · Not Applicable · registry updated 2025-12-10
This clinical trial investigates the short-term effects of two commonly used non-nutritive sweeteners (NNS), saccharin and sucralose, on blood glucose regulation and the gut microbiota in adults with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM). While NNS are widely promoted as sugar substitutes to aid glycaemic control, emerging evidence suggests that even small doses may influence metabolic health, potentially through interactions with the gut microbial community. The study is designed as a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, crossover trial involving 33 adults with T2DM. Each participant will receive all three interventions, saccharin, sucralose, and a placebo (calcium carbonate) in random order. Each intervention will be administered once daily in capsule form for 7 consecutive days, with a 4-week washout period between phases to minimize carryover effects. Throughout the trial, data will be collected on anthropometry, blood-based glycaemic biomarkers, dietary intake, physical activity, and stool samples. Gut microbiota composition will be assessed via 16S rRNA gene sequencing....

Continuous Glucose Metrics in Patients With Gastroparesis in Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes
Recruiting · Not Applicable · registry updated 2026-08-03
A pilot study to evaluate and compare glucose metrics using a real-time continuous glucose monitor (FreeStyle Libre 3 sensor) between patients with diabetes and gastroparesis and those with diabetes without gastroparesis.

Safety and Efficacy of OCN19-overexpressed Human Umbilical Cord-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells in the Treatment of Refractory Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
Recruiting · Phase 2 · registry updated 2024-12-17
Umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell injection expressing OCN19, while playing the role of MSCs, can directly stimulate the expression of insulin gene and the division and proliferation of islet beta cells, which is expected to further enhance the therapeutic effect of stem cells. In non-clinical studies, it was found that MSCs expressing OCN19 had better hypoglycemic effect than MSCs
NCT07321886
A Study of Eloralintide (LY3841136) in Participants With Obesity, or Overweight Without Type 2 Diabetes
Recruiting · Phase 3 · registry updated 2026-09-22
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of eloralintide in adults with obesity or overweight who do not have type 2 diabetes. The study has two phases: a main phase and an extension phase. Participation in the main phase of the study will last about 75 weeks. Participants with prediabetes will continue in the extension phase for another 2 years.

Improving Kidney Care in Type 2 Diabetes: A Study of Pharmacist Prescribing Versus Usual Care
Recruiting · Not Applicable · registry updated 2026-03-18
Type 2 diabetes is the leading cause of chronic kidney disease, which can result in serious complications such as kidney failure and heart disease. Although effective medications exist to slow the progression of kidney damage, they are often underused in primary care, particularly for individuals without a regular family doctor. In response to this gap, 46 community pharmacy-led primary care clinics were launched across Nova Scotia in 2023 to serve under-resourced areas. Pharmacists at these clinics can prescribe for many chronic conditions, but currently not for diabetic kidney disease. To address this, the research team collaborated with kidney, diabetes, and primary care experts, patient partners and regulatory bodies to develop and validate step-by-step prescribing guide (called algorithms) that support pharmacists in identifying and managing diabetic kidney disease. All medications included are approved, publicly funded in Nova Scotia, target people with earlier categories of diabetic kidney disease and includebuilt-in safety monitoring, nurse practitioner consultation or referral to a kidney doctor....

China Diabetes Cognitive Dysfunction Early Diagnosis and Intervention Study (China-DECODE Study)
Recruiting · Not specified · registry updated 2024-10-21
Type 2 diabetes (T2D) and dementia are both diseases with increasing incidence and prevalence globally, leading to substantial economic burdens for families and society. Notably, diabetes significantly increases the risk of cognitive dysfunction, which is classified into preclinical stage, mild cognitive impairment and dementia based on the disease severity. Cognitive dysfunction is a critical contributor to disability and mortality in elderly diabetes patients. Early diagnosis and intervention are crucial for delaying disease progression, enhancing treatment efficacy, and mitigating the impact of dementia. Currently, research and clinical management of cognitive dysfunction in individuals with diabetes are in their infancy, characterized by limitations such as single-center studies, limited sample sizes, inconsistent diagnostic criteria, and insufficient data sharing. Consequently, clinical diagnosis and treatment strategies are underdeveloped, medical staff's related knowledge is lacking, and potential therapeutic targets remain unexplored....

Evaluation of Medication Management Service
Recruiting · Not Applicable · registry updated 2024-02-23
Medication management services (MMS) is a pharmacist-led service of optimizing the medication use and health outcomes, by promoting medication safety and enhancing the ability in self-management of health and diseases of patients and their caregivers. Yet, only limited evidence on the implementation of MMS service in Hong Kong is available. The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the cost effectiveness and effects of implementing MMS in community pharmacies owned by 8 non-government organizations (NGOs) in Hong Kong on humanistic and clinical outcomes in patients with hypertension and/or type II diabetes mellitus....
